Macroscopic fluctuation theory and current fluctuations in active lattice gases

چکیده

We study the current large deviations for a lattice model of interacting active particles displaying motility-induced phase separation (MIPS). To do this, we first derive exact fluctuating hydrodynamics in system limit. On top usual Gaussian noise terms theory also presents Poissonian terms, that fully account for. find dynamical transition between flat density profiles and sharply phase-separated traveling waves, associated diagram together with deviation function all phases, including one MIPS. show how results can be obtained using methods similar to those equilibrium separation, spite nonequilibrium nature problem.

Current fluctuations in stochastic lattice gases.

We study current fluctuations in lattice gases in the macroscopic limit extending the dynamic approach for density fluctuations developed in previous articles. More precisely, we establish a large deviation theory for the space-time fluctuations of the empirical current which include the previous results. We then estimate the probability of a fluctuation of the average current over a large time...

Non equilibrium current fluctuations in stochastic lattice gases

We study current fluctuations in lattice gases in the macroscopic limit extending the dynamic approach for density fluctuations developed in previous articles. More precisely, we establish a large deviation principle for a space-time fluctuation j of the empirical current with a rate functional I(j). We then estimate the probability of a fluctuation of the average current over a large time inte...

Driven Lattice Gases: Typical Fluctuations and Large Deviations

Driven lattice gases are studied with the goal to understand whether at all and if so how far the very general principles of local thermodynamic equilibrium (LTE) extend to non-LTE systems characterized by broken detailed balance.

Macroscopic fluctuation theory and first-passage properties of surface diffusion.

We investigate nonequilibrium fluctuations of a solid surface governed by the stochastic Mullins-Herring equation with conserved noise. This equation describes surface diffusion of adatoms accompanied by their exchange between the surface and the bulk of the solid, when desorption of adatoms is negligible. Previous works dealt with dynamic scaling behavior of the fluctuating interface. Here we ...

Thermodynamic theory of phase transitions in driven lattice gases.

We formulate an approximate thermodynamic theory of the phase transition in driven lattice gases with attractive nearest-neighbor interactions. We construct the van der Waals equation of state for a driven system where a nonequilibrium chemical potential can be expressed as a function of density and driving field. A Maxwell's construction leads to the phase transition from a homogeneous fluid p...
